The performance and lifecycle of the rod string is dependent on the ability of the rod guides to withstand the torque stresses, impact loads, oscillation and friction. COBALT has re-engineered the rod guide , specifically designed to resist the high torque loads and rotational wear which is typical for PCP systems. Proper rod guide spacing is required to mitigate the impact of excessive side loading and excess torque when the well is deviated.

COBALT Sucker Rod Guides were developed to offer a high-performance alternative to conventional rod guides. Engineered to withstand the abrasive counterfaces and high impact load conditions often encountered in deviated artificial lift well completions. The ARPMAX engineered polymer selected for PCP wells is "Tubing Friendly", as the polymer has a very low co-efficient of friction due to the embedded lubricant additive. Every COBALT Rod Guide is "Tribology Optimized".
